[Post updated with new date for Annual meeting, 31 January, 2018.]
Dear Pohick Station Association Members,
I wish you and yours the best during the upcoming holiday season! I am writing this to provide a short update on the Homeowners Association of Pohick Station. Below I address two vandalism incidents in our neighborhood, an invitation to our annual meeting, and some holiday security preparations to consider during this holiday season.
1. Vandalism. One of our neighbors has experienced vandalism directed against their mailbox on two separate occasions. Here is a website that covers some possible ramifications of vandalizing mailboxes:
https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/radDocs/tipvandl.htm
Please check Virginia law concerning legalities before implementing, but an action that could deter future vandalism is installing security cameras.
2. Our Association's annual meeting will be held on (updated) Wednesday, 31 January 2018, in the Fairview Elementary School cafeteria at 7:00pm. All association members are encouraged to attend. Topics include the association's finances, Architectural Control Committee activities, neighborhood road re-paving and Fairfax County Parkway expansion, and the Fairfax County Deer Management Program.
3. Holiday Security. Our neighborhood is a very low crime area. Please look at the website
https://www.crimereports.com/
and type in "Fairfax Station" for a view of reported crime in our neighborhood. However, here are some actions you can take to reduce the risk of something happening to your property when you are away:

In closing, have a safe, enjoyable holiday season, and I look forward to seeing everyone at January's annual meeting.
