Our neighborhood has recently experienced several (at least 5) multi-hour power outages within a 2-1/2 week period (from 8/12 to 8/30), mostly during periods of clear weather. This notice is to let homeowners know that Dominion Energy had been in the neighborhood the last few days investigating the cause, and they have isolated the problem to a bad transformer, which they have now replaced. So hopefully, that will resolve the issue, and we will not be seeing additional outages like we've been having over the last few weeks.
As a reminder, whenever you do experience a power outage, it is important to contact Dominion directly to inform them, so that they are aware of the extent of the outage, and can investigate and resolve the issue promptly.
To report a power outage, you may either call Dominion directly at 1-866-366-4357, or access their website at https://www.dominionenergy.com/virginia/report-outage-or-emergency, and you will be able to input your home phone number and address where the power outage has occurred. On their website, they will usually have a map of the known outage areas, and provide an estimate of when they expect power will be restored.
