Workshops presented on Home Grown Food and Gardening for Winter/Seasonal Interest
Home Grown Food workshop will focus on the fall garden -- preparing your garden for spring, because now is the time to add compost for a more fertile and abundant garden in the spring, whether growing ornamentals or edibles -- it's the same process. Will also talk about pollinator gardens and supporting biodiversity, and will touch on what makes soil healthy, and how healthy soil dramatically reduces plant disease and pests.
Winter Interest workshop will be led by a Master Gardener who lived in Chicago until recently, where winter interest lasts for 7 months of the year. Will show how to make a garden beautiful naturally, even during bleak winter weather.
You’ll also receive:
a FREE packet of seeds to grow microgreens in your kitchen or plant outside for a lettuce patch – a great learning experience for kids or adults
Free copies of our latest resources on native trees – including the kids activity book, a 44-page guide to native trees, and key to identifying trees
A handout on recognizing poison ivy
We look forward to seeing you there!
